Midwest Exclusive: YFH-8310ZII (Feat. Wayne Tanabe)

We had a great time at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic (‪@themidwestclinic‬) last week! Not only is Midwest a great resource for music educators to bring new teaching techniques back to their classrooms, but our District Managers and Sales Specialists take the opportunity to meet one on one with our vendors and instrument manufacturers for specialized training. We were fortunate enough to meet with Wayne Tanabe, senior technical manager for Yamaha Artist Services in New York City, to get an in depth look at the new Flugelhorn that has been developed in collaboration with the prolific trumpeter, Bobby Shew.

Widely recognized for his pioneering work in the field of brass instrument repair, Wayne has developed and refined the use of cryogenics, ultrasonic cleaning and magnetic dent removal, and has served as a consultant for instrument design and development of components for various manufacturers. Thanks again to Wayne and the wonderful folks over at Yamaha for taking the time to meet with us!
