Musescore 4.4.1 and Muse Sounds. Massenet's lovely ‘Méditation’

Описание к видео Musescore 4.4.1 and Muse Sounds. Massenet's lovely ‘Méditation’

Today we’ll be taking a look at some tips to get a great mockup with Musescore 4.4.1

I’ve started a little score in Sibelius Ultimate, of Massenet's wonderful ‘Méditation’ and to save this video being hours long, have just started the first section with Solo Violin, Strings and harp.

'Méditation' is from the opera 'Thaïs' written for solo violin, orchestra and backstage chorus.

The opera premiered at the Opéra Garnier in Paris on March 16, 1894, and I thought it would make a perfect example of how far free samples have come, as with a little bit of tweaking, they can sound..well, I'll leave that up to you to decide!

I'm starting in Sibelius, as there is a way now to tempo map files as easily as any DAW or Dorico, by using the amazing plugin created by ‪@SantiagoBarx‬ his GraphicalMidiTools plugin. It's superb, and if you love Sibelius as much as I do, I urge you to check it out!

Then I'll import the midi into Musescore 4.4.1 and show you the tweaking I do.

Everything used in ‪@musescore‬ 4.4.1 is included in Muse-Hub once you install the software.

I used the Muse Sounds Solo Violin, Strings and Harp, panned to taste in the mixer, with nothing on the master channel. I used the included reverb on each instruments aux channel and set everything to a default level of 25%

I have time-stamped the chapters as follows for you, so you can navigate to the bits that interest you the most

I'm currently working on a new website, showing hints and tips for Sibelius, Dorico and Musescore, and where we can share ideas, scores and generally help people out. If you'd like to know when the new website goes live, pop your email into the subscription box on my site https://www.paul.del-nevo.uk

Don't worry, I'm not going to spam you, I'll just give you a heads up when the site is live.

Full disclosure:

I’m not paid for these videos, and (unless the products are free) I have bought all the samples and not been given them.

Thanks so much for watching, and if you like my content, please do consider liking and subscribing to the channel as that would really help me out.

I’ll see you soon for the next one
