Instruction: This is the Pre-Reading Activity for Your LitVlog

Описание к видео Instruction: This is the Pre-Reading Activity for Your LitVlog

There is so much you can think about and discover before reading the book.

For your Pre-Reading Activity you can choose between three options! In this video you can learn more about the different activities and your possibilities to organise your video.

Option 1

Activity: If you choose the brainstorming, you have to draw a topic-web on a poster or sheet which includes all of your thoughts, ideas and impressions when it comes to the title of the book. You put the title In the center of your sheet. Net-like, you place all your ideas around it and connect them if this makes sense.

Video: Later in the main part of your video, you present your topic-web to your audience and explain how they relate to each other.

Option 2

Activity: If you choose the research-task, you have to collect information on the author of the book that you want to read. You can use for example the internet or go to a library. Then you make a poster where you write down your facts

about the author
of her/his biography
the most famous books he or she wrote
their relevance for English literature in general
Video: Later in the main part of your video, you present your poster to the audience and explain what you found out and what you think is most important for the others to know.

Option 3

Activity: If you want to tell your audience about your first impressions, you should look at

the cover of the book,
the title,
the table of content,
the character list
and the first three sentences
Make suggestions about the theme of the book, the story, the conflicts and the characters.

Video: Then take notes of your thoughts and expectations and present them in the main part of your video.

Here are some more things that you should keep in mind:

Your pre-reading video should not take more than three minutes, so try to keep it short
Try to speak as free as possible but use your notes whenever you need them
Make yourself feel comfortable and don’t worry if you misspeak yourself
Here you finde useful phrases and expressions for your videoVideo:
