Lydia is the owner of Four Elements Yoga and Fitness in Austin, TX. Opening Four Elements blended her life-long love of movement and her understanding of healing through movement. Lydia has a bachelors in Psychology having graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Edward's. It was during her time studying psychology that she began to understand how movement, dance, yoga and aerial arts can offer deep change and lasting healing and personal transformation. Lydia put her PhD aspirations on hold indefinitely and instead turned her energies to sharing the inspiration and passion for aerial movement and aerial yoga that she had discovered. She strives to make aerial movement accessible to everyone and welcomes the brand-new beginner! Expect to break through your barriers!
Lydia's training includes the 200 hour yoga teacher training standard at Austin's Black Swan Yoga and holds an RYT designation with the Yoga Alliance. She also has the highest level of training currently available in aerial yoga having completed basic and advanced levels of Aerial Yoga teacher training in Boulder, CO with Cathy Gauch of Aircat Aerial Arts. Currently, Lydia is working towards her 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training with Yoga Yoga including Advanced Anatomy with leading yoga anatomy expert Leslie Kaminoff and restorative training with Judith Lasater. Lydia has been a magician's assistant having traveled, performed and competed with her husband, Magician John Maverick.
Lydia also enjoys the more performance-oriented end of aerial work, having performed as an aerialist at yoga events, in night clubs, along side bands, with an internationally known aerial company as well as having been selected as a finalist and competed as a finalist in a regional aerial competition.

This challenging hammock workout is meant to build strength and confidence in the aerial apparatus, to transform your world, body and your aerial practice, to move with grace, ease and strength in the air as well as on the ground. The strength and beautify you will find give you an edge in whatever type of movement you are presented.
