Essential WildStorm Comics

Описание к видео Essential WildStorm Comics

Few comic studios have had a stranger history than Jim Lee's WildStorm. Founded in the early 1990s as one of the studios under the brand of Image Comics, it claimed to be a haven of creativity against the big, bad comic publishers. Instead, its titles were notorious for over-the-top artwork, flimsy plotlines, a hectic and irregular schedule, and a general lack of quality that was a symbol of the decade. This started to change with teams like the Authority and Planetary, and imprints such as Homage and America's Best Comics, which opened space for acclaimed works like Astro City and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. And then Lee shocks everyone including his partners by selling the studio to DC Comics. For the last decades, DC has tried to find a use for its characters, changing course multiple times and lacking any coherent direction. Still, great comics can be found if you know where to look for them. These are the Essential WildStorm Comics.
