Self-Sufficiency Your Way, You’ve Got This!

In this time we live in where there are so many ways to gather information, there are also many places to see comparisons. It is easy to fall into wanting to compare yourself to the self sufficient "pro" on YouTube or the homesteader writing in magazines and books. This is just a short video of my thoughts on that, to tell you all that WHATEVER step you can take towards being self sufficient is an accomplishment. Not everyone has the time, money, or knowledge to make such huge steps like you may see others taking, so start with what you can. Know your limits of experience, income, and time before making huge leaps. But don't let this stop you from growing and learning as you go! We have this called a Homestead because over the years we have done projects for self-sufficiency and we have raised chickens, tanned, built, and canned. While we are not on that same level today, I know that is okay, because in the areas that we are able to we are taking steps to stay on that journey. So don't be discouraged if you don't have 40 acres with a full-fledged farm, because not everyone has the ability to. Don't compare yourselves. Instead, start off with that raised-bed garden or have a little group of hens. Try making some neat crafts to sell online, or even try your hand at canning some local produce. Everyone has their own path, their own process, their own way of learning. Do what you can, you've got this!
