Episode 41

Frank (Frank Pemberton) surprises Ken (Bill Roache) by taking the news of Ken’s older woman calmly. He reveals he once had a similar relationship himself. Alice (Avis Bunnage) criticizes Lucille's (Jennifer Moss) behavior and expresses her discontent with Harry's (Ivan Beavis) living situation. Ena (Violet Carson) prepares to return to the vestry and confronts Swindley (Arthur Lowe) and Miss Nugent (Eileen Derbyshire) about favouritism leading to a tense apology. Dr. Graham (Fulton Mackay) clears Linda (Anne Cunningham) for outings and suggests Elsie (Pat Phoenix) needs a husband leaving her puzzled. Alice tries to convince Concepta (Doreen Keogh) to persuade Harry to move but there are soon bigger things to worry about when Harry gets a call to say Lucille didn’t return from school.
