Now days I just want to be an educator. Long ago in the land before time, I learned how a helicopter functions with it’s maximum potential. Here’s a few tips to help you get the most out of your RC helicopter. Our Helis all function the same, no matter the brand or what it looks like. They all work on the same principle. Always verify with your eyeballs that the main blade is flat at center stick with a linear pitch , (0,25,50,75,100), then cross the blades and shear them to prove it again. The swashplate should always be level forward and aft and side to side in order to do this. We do not want any interaction of inputs. We level our swash to the main bock in the frame, not the landing gear , and no, you don’t need to bubble level the helicopter.
Rate mode for tail rotor set up is mandatory for a perfect tail rotor pitch with equal travel of the servo horn each way. If you can only use heading hold as in the 6250hx flybarless system, you will have to estimate for 2-3 degrees nose right pitch. If there was neutral pitch on that tail rotor it would rotate nose left because of the torque of the main blade spinning clockwise. So the canopy and fuse of the heli would spin counterclockwise. This is physics and science. The digital guage and all the wiz bangs are just helpers. Do this and see the difference for yourself. Happy Flying as always. Coe Show
