Copper, Mine 🔶️💙🔶️My Passionate Love Affair with Copper! Acrylic pour painting using Ring Pours and Straight Pours on a huge 30x40 inch canvas! Goldens Copper, Decoart Metallics, Windsor & Newton Windsor Blue and Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish play beautifully together in this fantasy piece.

Hello Friends! Happy Sunday!
For the last few weeks I have been slightly obsessed with Copper.. I have been testing all my favorite brands Copper and have learned so much in this ongoing experiment. I have tested DecoArt, Artists Loft, Chroma Molten Metals, Liquitex, and Golden brands of Copper.

This piece has Golden's Copper Iridescent Fine, a really amazing color paint with so much sparkle. That paint is very thin though, so I added some Golden's Soft Gel Gloss to my paint to give it more body and bring it to the same consistency as my other paints. You can experiment with different thicknesses that Goldens offers, from extra heavy to extra soft.

I started out wanting to do 2 wandering Ring pours across the canvas, using a beautiful gradient palette of Burnt Umber, Rich Espresso, Golden's Copper, Xanadu Gold and Pearl. After I did the wandering ring pours I did two or three smaller straight pours in the middle and ended up liking the straight pours better. The Pearl blended beautifully with my Windsor Blue and Gold
created a very lustrous soft flowing area that I loved.

DecoArt Americana Decor Pearl
Windsor & Newton Windsor Blue

My pouring medium was Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish,
A bit of water as needed
Floetrol
