Scat Pack Can't Shake The Georgia State Patrol

On 3/15/2022 at approximately 1104 hours, I was patrolling Northside Dr. in the city limits of
Atlanta, Fulton County. I observed a red Dodge Charger 392 traveling south on Northside Dr that had
extremely dark window tint, and the windshield was tinted. I got behind the vehicle and activated my
emergency lights shortly after it turned onto North Ave. The traffic light ahead turned red, and the
suspect vehicle stopped for the light with me behind it with my lights on. When the traffic light turned
green the vehicle began moving again. It was my thought that the driver was attempting to locate a
safe place to pull over. After a short while, I activated my siren, and the vehicle made a right turn onto
Luckie St. It still appeared that the vehicle was looking for a safe place to stop. Once the vehicle made
the right turn onto Luckie St. it accelerated, changed lanes to pass another vehicle traveling in the
same direction, and initiated a pursuit.
I notified my dispatch that I was in pursuit of the suspect vehicle. I attempted to PIT the vehicle
before it could continue to flee. The PIT was unsuccessful, and the vehicle continued south on Luckie
St. The driver drove in a reckless manner and made it way onto Ivan Allan Blvd. The vehicle then ran
the red light at the intersection of Northside Dr. and continued onto Joseph E Boone Blvd. The vehicle
continued to drive in a reckless manner by passing vehicles, exceeding the speed limit by over 20
MPH, and running stop signs. The driver attempted to turn north onto Oliver St. but was traveling too
fast. The vehicle made too wide of a turn and traveled off the roadway, striking a light pole. The driver
(Antoine Pierce) exited the driver’s side of the car and began walking north. I exited my patrol car and
drew my Glock 45 pistol to conduct a Felony Stop. I quickly noticed Mr. Pierce was not armed and I
drew my Taser. I ordered Mr. Pierce to stop walking away. He turned around to face me. I ordered him
to lay on the ground. He stated that he would not and because of his size and bystanders arriving on
the scene, I deployed my Taser. Both probes struck him in his torso. The deployment was not effective,
and Mr. Pierce began to pull the Taser probes from his body. I deployed my taser again but this time
the effect was good, and Mr. Pierce fell to the ground.
After a brief struggle on the ground, I was able to handcuff Mr. Pierce behind his back. TFC
Brown then arrived on the scene and helped me secure Mr. Pierce in the rear of his patrol car. TFC Brown transported Mr. Pierce to Grady Hospital after being looked at by Grady EMS on scene.
While searching the car a backpack that contained an amount of suspected ,
and several other bags of prescription pills was found in
the passenger compartment. A silver S&W .38 caliber revolver was also located inside the vehicle. I
went to APD Zone 5 precinct to secure warrants. TFC Brown finished with Mr. Pierce’s medical
clearance at Grady and transported him to the Zone 5 precinct.
Once Mr. Pierce arrived at the precinct, he became upset, becoming confrontational and yelling
at other officers. While it was time to leave Mr. Pierce stood up from his holding location and kicked a
door open inside the precinct. When we approached the front door to the precinct, he kicked that door
as well. Once Mr. Pierce was in my patrol car, an officer from inside the precinct approached me and
informed me that Mr. Pierce had damaged the doors that he had kicked and collected his information
so that he could take warrants of his own.
I transported Mr. Pierce to Fulton County Jail. While at the jail Mr. Pierce made several
concerning statements. He stated that he wasn’t worried because he hadn’t killed anyone so he knew
he would be getting out in a short time. He also stated that I would not capture him again because
“Next time I’ll be in my Trackhawk.” Mr. Pierce has already shown a pattern of fleeing from law
enforcement as he was just captured by GSP in January 2022 after fleeing in a vehicle.
Mr. Pierce was turned over to the jail staff and served his warrants. Criminal history was conducted on
Mr. Pierce and showed in 2018 he was convicted of Felony Marijuana Possession. All evidence
collected was dropped into the Troop C evidence locker.
