For any copyright, please send me a message.  Love Island took Caroline Flack to the peak of her career. Over its first five series she became synonymous with the increasingly popular show in fans' minds.  She took it to new highs as it created a buzz on social media, and became one of the UK's best loved reality shows. Some 3.6 million viewers tuned in to watch Amber and Greg being crowned champions at the end of last summer's series, with a further 400,000 streaming the show. In 2018 she was present as the show won a TV Bafta for best reality and constructed factual show.  But victories could be bittersweet. After winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 with professional partner Pasha Kovalev, her mood crashed.  The morning after lifting the glitterball trophy she felt that her body was "covered" in "clingfilm".  She thought she was "ridiculous" feeling so low, she told The Sun, adding: "I couldn't get up and just couldn't pick myself up at all that next year." Her TV career began in 2002 when she played Bubbles on the sketch show Bo' Selecta. From there worked with celebrities like Paddy O'Connell, Ian Wright, Vernon Kay and Olly Murs hosting a variety of series, from Gladiators on Sky One to the Xtra Factor. She and Murs went on to host the X Factor from August 2015. She will always be remebered for presenting Love Island from June 2015 and, after its third series, its spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun. But in recent months her troubled personal life made the headlines. She stepped down from Love Island after she was alleged to have assaulted her boyfriend Lewis Burton 27, at her then home in Islington, north London, in December. More follows...
