FL 300 Pallet Separator Installation for Pallet Flow Rack

Be sure to follow the instructions included with your pallet flow rack order. Each project is unique, and installation may vary --refer to your specific drawings.

Tools Needed:
--Straight Edge
--Impact driver or wrench

Expert Tips:
Place the separator into the lane as per the drawings.
Using a straight edge, align the separator with the end of the rails.
Using the provided hardware, insert bolts as per the installation instructions determined holes.
Tighten the nuts with a wrench or impact driver.
Using the straight edge, ensure the front paddle on the separator is on the same plane as the ramp stops.
Fasten the back end of the separator with the wrench or impact driver.
Push down the bale and paddle to ensure the rear paddle engages.

The Forklift Separator is designed specifically for deep-lane, multi-level pallet flow configurations. The FL-series holds back rear pallets from exerting force on the front pallet thus allowing for safe extraction of the front pallet. The forklift separator automatically releases rear pallets once the front pallet is lifted by the forklift, allowing them to gently glide forward to replenish the pick face. Isolating the front pallet and removing the back pressure of the rear pallets is even more critical at higher elevations where forklift mast capacity is reduced.

Back pressure is the combined weight of the rear pallets that transfers to the front pallet. When left uncontrolled, back pressure can apply excessive pressure on the forklift, risking uncontrolled extraction. Back Pressure = .06 x weight/pallet x number of pallets in the lane.

E.g. .06 x 1200 x 5 = 360 lbs. of extra weight pressing down on the front pallet. In a deep-lane configuration that amount can multiply into the thousands!
