Hike to Fremont Lookout, Mount Rainier National Park, 5.6 miles, July 2022

Описание к видео Hike to Fremont Lookout, Mount Rainier National Park, 5.6 miles, July 2022

The views from Fremont Lookout are amazing! The hike starts from the Sunrise Visitor Center on the northeast side of Mount Rainier, and heads up toward Frozen Lake like many of the trails in that area.

On the day I went it was sunny and clear, and the Lookout area was a haven for mosquitos! Even though I had on mosquito spray, I had to pull out the Bug Net! If you have one, it can be a huge help during the summer!

*Correction* A viewer let me know that the mountain peak at 10:39 is Glacier Peak, not Mount Baker.** Glacier Peak is also a volcano and is south of Mount Baker.**

The large green meadow with evergreen trees, that you can see below the Lookout, is Grand Park. I hiked that a couple weeks after this hike, here is the link to my Grand Park hike:

From the book: The Lookout was originally built in 1934 as a fire lookout, one of 8 that were built in the park during that time. It has been repaired from time to time as needed, including after significant damage in 2006.
