Hiking Mt. Fremont Lookout Trail | A Best Hike Mt. Rainier National Park

Описание к видео Hiking Mt. Fremont Lookout Trail | A Best Hike Mt. Rainier National Park

Hiking the Mt. Fremont Lookout trail in Mt. Rainier National Park. Possibly, best hike in Mt Rainier National Park.

We starting at 6:30am for a day hike to the Mt Fremont Lookout Tower. There were only a couple of cars in the parking lot, and we only saw a few hikers getting ready to start their journey. We decided to eat breakfast in the parking lot before starting our hike. If we were to hike this trail again, we would probably start hiking at 6:30am and eat breakfast on the trail to avoid the crowds of people that we started to encounter on the way down the trail since it was an out and back trail.

The views of Mt. Rainier were nothing short of amazing, skies were clear, and the weather was perfect for day hiking. The blue hue color that was radiating off Frozen Lake was breathtaking.

It was a nice surprise to have a mountain goat run across the trail right in front of us and to see a herd of about 20 mountain goats grazing in the meadow with Mt. Rainier in the backdrop.

We recommend having long sleeves to help with keeping the horse flies at bay that you will encounter once the fire tower starts to come into view. We enjoyed our lunch at the fire lookout tower on top of a rock with stunning views of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding mountain range and meadows.

Mt. Fremont Lookout trail took us 5.9 miles alongside Mt. Rainier the whole way with only 1,135ft of elevation gain. It did take us 4 hours to complete the trail because we just couldn’t stop slowing down to take in the beautiful scenery. There were a few steep sections but overall, it was a gradual climb. Mt. Rainier National Park surpassed all our expectations!
