The bustling island of Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm with cobbled streets and colourful 17th- and 18th-century buildings, is the most visited tourist area. It’s home to the medieval Storkyrkan Cathedral and the Royal Palace, the king’s official residence and is replete with stylish bistros, serving Nordic cuisine, old-school pubs and chic cocktail bars, apart from numerous shops selling souvenirs. The area is always teeming with tourists.
We are starting with a walk through the main shopping street and then will go on to various side lanes and end our tour at Stortorget, the main square with most photographed old buildings and a visit Nobel Museum.
