To practise the RR, watch this other YouTube video    • Roll with Confidence: Mastering the R...

In this video I bring you a fun Spanish lesson. You get to read out a passage from the famous Sherlock Holmes story "Un escándalo en Bohemia" (A Scandal in Bohemia).

I've divided this Spanish lesson into small chunks, so you can develop your speaking fluency, at the same time as your vocabulary and pronunciation. I show you the errors you're likely to be making. I also point out the most interesting grammar points.

But in this video I've focused mostly on taking your Spanish accent to the next level. I show you, for example, how you link words in Spanish the way natives do. That's the reason why Spanish always sounds so fast to you. If you link words the way natives do, you'll improve your listening skills dramatically.

In this video I also show you how to pronounce the double R, one of the trickiest sounds in Spanish. And above this description I've linked to a previous video where I walk you step by step through how to get the double R always right.

Another Spanish pronunciation tips I give you in this video is about the letter E. The Spanish E is never silent. Make sure you never drop it when it comes at the end of a word, even if a word looks very similar in English. For example in: parte (part).

I also talk about the silent H, one of my favourite Spanish pronunciation topics.

A Spanish letter that is sometimes silent is the vowel U. When the U comes in the clusters: gue, gui, que, qui, it's silent. For example, in words like: alguien, quitar.

If you follow the tips I give you in this step by step lesson, your spoken Spanish and your listening comprehension skills will improve dramatically over the next few weeks.
