A shop was robbed in Salford by a man believed to be carrying a gun.

The offender walked into the shop on Church Street, Eccles at around 5.30pm on Friday 17 October 2014 and approached the counter.

He was carrying a motorcycle helmet and took out what is believed to have been a gun. He demanded money from the till and left.

The man is described as being white, in his late 30s, 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build, wore a woolly hat, scarf around his face and spoke with a local accent.

Detective Constable Horace Bell said: “We have managed to obtain some CCTV footage from the incident and would ask anyone who recognises the man to call us.

“Although the shop worker was unsure whether the man was holding a gun, he understandably did not want to risk being hurt in anyway so gave him what he wanted.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 5354 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
