Though Satan was immortal but he had undergone a very miserable situation in hell. He was lying in a lake and thinking over the past happiness he had lost in Heaven and about the upcoming pain and disgrace in Hell. It is a place where fire and flame exist without light, where darkness was still visible which reveal sights of woe and visions of sorrow. It was a place where hope never comes. All the fallen angels lie in the Hell in an utter hopelessness which was the crucial point about Hell.
