Wombeyan Caves — Soaking up the Sun

Описание к видео Wombeyan Caves — Soaking up the Sun

On a sunny day with no chance of rain, it was time to get out on the bikes where we could relax and enjoy our riding! We made an early start to get a nice run up Macquarie Pass which setup a great day.

Mac Pass — surface still good, nice run.
Tourist Road — Peaceful ride and bypassing Robertson.
Range Road — it’s got the Dungog start, but eventually ok passing by some nice properties.
Wombeyan Caves Road — It’s OK, the first 25km to the Wollondilly Lookout (a few K’s past the Bullio Tunnel) is sealed. Any-bike dirt and narrow until Goodman’s Ford Bridge (20km), then the road deteriorates to Adventure bike only for some of the way to Wombeyan Caves (which are closed – the whole area is desolate). Road OK back to Taralga Rd with good gravel before bitumen.
Laggan-Taralga Road — We like this road (a few potholes like everywhere else), scenic with sweepers.
Towrang Road — An alternative to riding ‘Highlands Way’, passes the old Viaduct Historic Railway Bridge, sealed with some gravel options. We took Bulls Pit Road — very easy dirt, but it was flooded under the Wollondilly River, so headed back onto the sealed Towrang Rd.
Canyonleigh Road was mostly unsealed but offered some interesting landscapes, beautiful riding, 3-gate crossings, plenty of sheep and some amazing homes on big properties.

Nice coffee at the Robertson Pie Shop to finish up a great ride before heading back down the Pass.

Total distance 450km.
