Columbia National Wildlife Refuge | Wildlife | Ice Age Flood Terrain

Описание к видео Columbia National Wildlife Refuge | Wildlife | Ice Age Flood Terrain

For this video, I travel to eastern Washington state to the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge is located within the Drumheller Channels – which are a central part of the story of ice age floods that inundated eastern Washington. These floods – more than 100 in total – were part to the story of Glacier Lake Missoula and the ice age floods that ripped across the area from Montana at the end of the last ice age.

I make my way through the refuge to photograph birds – mallards and Canadian Geese – and also get treated to an overflight of Sand Hill Cranes during their migration.

If you want to find out more about the ice age floods, go to www.nickzentner.com. I would also like to thank him for the flood animation used in this video. ‪@GeologyNick‬
