A scene from the curious film The Girl Who Couldn't Quite from 1950, about a girl (Elizabeth Henson) who has never smiled until one day she sees a tramp (Bill Owen) whose funny ways and manners make her laugh and her family decide to persuade him to stay on to help their daughter. However, Owen's tramp Tim is rather more forthright in his manners than her family and appalled by her rudeness, so in this scene he decides to teach her some "etiquette." Needless to say, she doesn't like it one bit! You could say this is an early precursor to Owen's Compo from his TV series Last of the Summer Wine, but he is superb in the film.
