Is Cold Email Dying in 2024?

In this video, I show you if cold email is dying in 2024 and how to still make it work. Many people are seeing fewer replies, accounts getting suspended, and emails being blocked. But don't worry, cold email is not dying; it's just getting harder.

Cold email has been around for a long time. It used to be easier to send 1000 emails, book 10 calls, and close 1-2 deals. Now, with more competition, you need to send more emails to get the same results. This is normal for all marketing channels like Facebook ads, Google ads, and cold calling.

Many businesses still use Facebook and Google ads, and they still do cold calling. The same goes for cold emails. Even though it's getting tougher, there are ways to still get good results. Some agencies are thinking about stopping cold emails, but this can be good for those who keep sending them because there will be less competition.

Here are eight tips to increase cold email reply rates and make sure your emails don't end up in the spam folder:

1. Heavy Spintax: Spintax helps create different versions of the same email by using curly braces {} and pipes | to choose different words. For example, {hi|hey|hello}. This way, each email looks different even though the message is the same.

2. Low Volume per Mailbox: To stay safe, send only 15-20 emails per day per mailbox. Use no more than 2 mailboxes per domain. This helps avoid getting flagged as spam.

3. 50-60% AI-Generated Copy: Use AI to write emails that are personalized to each prospect. This makes each email unique and helps avoid spam filters. Personalized emails also get more replies because they feel more special to the recipient.

4. Use of Clay: Clay is a tool that helps personalize cold emails at scale. It helps write custom sentences and use relevant information about the company you are reaching out to. This makes your emails more relevant and interesting.

5. Higher Emphasis on Relevance: Just because an email is personalized doesn't mean it is relevant. Make sure your email offers something useful to the prospect. Research the prospect and craft an email that makes sense for them.

6. No Spray and Pray Campaigns: Sending lots of generic emails (spray and pray) often leads to high spam complaints. Instead, research your prospects and use a valid reason to reach out to them. This lowers the chance of being marked as spam.

7. Testing: In the past, you might not have needed to test much. Now, it's important to test different things to see what works best. Test things like 1 mailbox per domain vs 2 mailboxes per domain, different email providers, email sending platforms, sending settings, and using warmup on vs warmup off.

8. 2-Step Sequences MAX: Don't send too many follow-up emails. In the past, you might have sent nine emails in a sequence, but now, it's better to limit it to two steps (the first email and one follow-up). This reduces the chance of being marked as spam.

Yes, cold email will take more time and effort now. But this is actually good news. Most people won't want to do all this work, so if you do, you'll stand out and get better results.

Here are some success stories to show that cold email still works:

One campaign booked 34 demos and closed 8 deals in 6 months.
Another campaign generated $4,090,000 in sales pipeline in 116 days and booked 67 sales calls.
One client added $7,200-$24,000 in monthly recurring revenue, booking 8-12 qualified sales calls each month and signing 3-4 new clients every month.
Another campaign had 72 interested leads in the first 6 weeks.
These results show that cold email can still be very effective if you do it right. Even though it's harder now, it's not impossible. By following the tips above, you can still get good results from your cold email campaigns.

In this video, I share all these tips and success stories to help you understand that cold email is not dying. It's just changing, and if you adapt, you can still use it to grow your business. So, don't give up on cold email. Instead, put in the extra effort to make your emails more personalized, relevant, and less likely to be marked as spam. With the right strategies, you can continue to book meetings, close deals, and grow your business with cold email.
