This workshop is designed to offer a comprehensive introduction to the rapidly evolving field of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis.

Workshop Highlights:
• Overview of the scRNA-seq workflow, from sample preparation and sequencing to data analysis.
• Learning outcomes include quality control, normalization, dimensionality reduction, clustering, and differential expression analysis techniques.
• Discussions on best practices and overcoming common challenges in scRNA-seq studies.
Prerequisites for Participants:
• Basic understanding of R programming is expected.
• Familiarity with molecular biology concepts and genomics is helpful but not mandatory.
Outcomes:
• Participants will gain the skills to perform scRNA-seq data analysis and apply these techniques to their research projects.

With over a decade of experience in computational biology, Ming Tommy Tang specializes in genomics, epigenomics, and (single-cell) transcriptomics. He has taken on pivotal roles in various cancer research projects, notably contributing to the NCI's Cancer Moonshot initiative at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As the Director of Computational Biology at Immunitas Therapeutics, he and his team employ machine-learning techniques to investigate immune cells in human tumors by analyzing single-cell RNAseq, single-cell TCRseq, and spatial transcriptome data. Beyond his professional work, Ming Tang is passionate about promoting open science and improving bioinformatics education to equip biologists with computational skills.
