This hot jazz standard, "Aggravatin’ Papa" (Don't You Try to Two-Time Me)" was played by J. Russel Robinson for QRS 2106 (1/23). Oh...and he also wrote the tune, which was sung by Bessie Smith and covered by just about eveybody back in the day including Sophie Tucker, Sister Harris Paul Whiteman, Isham Jones and more! It was soon arranged for G-Roll coin-op pianos on Automatic G-595 that same year. Here it is, heard on my Original roll which has been literally played to death and repaired many times over. The roll is one of the hottest blues rolls ever perfed...no wonder it's been so "well-loved" over the past 101 years!
