Here is a 100 minute chat I had with these two sisters in Glascarrig, Ballygarrett, Gorey back on the 18th of June 2019. I'd just finished a days work in the local school and headed down to May's house which is actually built on the site of an old monastery overlooking the Irish Sea.

The questions were unplanned and so the chat just meanders through a load of memories of growing up and living in this part of rural Co. Wexford. May was born on the 18th of December 1933 and Statia was born on the 1st of March 1939 and in this piece they chat about life in general from cooking on the open fire and drawing water from wells to smoking bacon and salting herrings.

Throughout the clip, they chat about local families in the area, their names and what old shops and pubs were once in the village, what musicians were around locally and when there were harvest and house dances. There is some much material here that I've it broken down the topics and will post in a comment below. Aside from all of the material they shared, their Ballygarrett accents are just gorgeous and I could listen to them talk all day long. The chat ends in the most perfect way, when Statia starts to sing and May joins in. This is just lovely.
