Welcome to Tone Report. Next, we’re getting a look at the Alexa Analog Chorus, by Suhr. The Alexa is an analog stereo multi-wave chorus and vibrato pedal that breaks new ground in the field of modulation. The core of the Alexa is separated into two bucket-brigade equipped channels that offer up an identical feature set, giving you access to two preset channels in the same box, with a wide variety of features on each channel. Each channel offers six different waveforms, from traditional sine and triangle wave to more unfamiliar waveforms such as ramp, photocell and rotary. Each channel also gives you access to the oscillator’s delay time, which dramatically opens up the versatility of the modulation by varying the width of the sound. Channel A also gives you the option to change the effect type from chorus to pitch vibrato. For those of you running a stereo rig, the Alexa comes equipped with stereo outs to take full advantage of the space-filling tones. The side of the Alexa offers a jack that can be used to connect an external tap tempo switch for global control across both channels, or an expression pedal for hands-free adjustment of the master clock. The Alexa also gives you a rear-mounted FX Link jack, which can be set up to access the Bypass and A/B switches with a remote switcher, letting you place the Alexa in any configuration you choose. And just like all Suhr products, the Alexa is crafted using pro quality parts and a keen eye for detail.
