Abstract: Flying Robots, often called drones, are starting to play a major role in several tasks such as search and rescue, interaction with the environment, inspection and manipulation. Agile navigation of Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs) through unknown environments, while concurrently interacting and manipulating the environment poses several challenges in terms of perception, state estimation, planning, and control. In this talk we will discuss results on dynamic trajectory planning for MAVs for high speed flight in unknown environments and the benefits of Path Parametric Motion Planning in the framework of Model Predictive Control.
