BAL.KAN, the ambitious project of the eminent Catalan Maestro Jordi Savall, is a major musical and historical feat. Morgenland Festival Osnabrück planned to present the project as finale of the festival, but the concert had to be cancelled due to corona pandemia. We are looking forward to meeting two musicians of Jordi Savall’s ensemble.

Bora Dugić was born in Đurđevo, Serbia. During his 50-year-long musical career he has taken the art of frula, the Serbian shepherd flute, all over the world. He actually considers frula his fate. His beautiful sound is characteristic for the Balkans, but more specifically for the Serbian central region of Šumadija.

Gyula Csík comes from a famous family of musicians. Hailed as one of the Hungary´s most prominent cymbalom performers, thanks to his musicianship and impeccable technique, Gyula is a frequent guest in many musical projects all over the world. He has played with gypsy bands, but is also at home in classical and jazz music. He is currently the solo cymbalom performer of the Hungarian National Gypsy Orchestra.
