✅ ABOUT THE AUTHOR:


Del’Shawn Taylor is an internationally award-winning baritone, composer, education professional, author, and arts equity advocate. He has had solo debuts with symphonies and ensembles on national and international stages ranging from Lincoln Center to the International Eisteddfod in Wales. He is an emerging composer that is frequently commissioned for new works with a focus on illuminating the unsung stories of African Americans. 


As an educator and arts equity advocate, it is his mission that every child regardless of their socioeconomic background has not only access to a high quality and equitable education, but access to the transformative power of the performing and creative arts. “Do You Know What Makes a Man,” is the first book within his new series titled “Believe It! Achieve It!” that seeks to equip, educate, and elevate young boys and girls, (especially those of African American heritage), with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed. Del’Shawn lives in South Bend, Indiana with his wife, Chanel, who is a dance educator, and their puppy, Malachi.
