Road Trip Workout in Joshua Tree 🌵🔥 | Full Body Double Kettlebell Circuit & Complex. Even in 95-degree desert heat, I stuck to my training. No excuses, just adapt. This workout made for a great travel workout.

Back in October 2024, Caroline and I escaped to Joshua Tree, California, during the annual Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach. Our poor little shihtzu, Bud, can’t handle the fighter jet noise over our home. It literally shakes our house and sounds like we are living in a war zone this week, and it just traumatizes him, so we always get out of town.

This workout is a double kettlebell session I filmed in the middle of our trip. I ran it both as a circuit and as a complex, so you can see the difference and try both styles for yourself.

Circuit style: you complete one exercise, rest, and then move on to the next. Perfect for beginners or if you’re easing into kettlebell work.


Complex style: all exercises flow together with no rest between movements—a serious metabolic challenge and a strength builder.


I ran 3 full rounds, but I'm only showing 2 here. Honestly, I might’ve hit 5 if it hadn’t been pushing 100°F out there. I didn’t want to overheat, but this one’s a great test of grit.


Warm Up 2 Rounds
40 Jumping Jack
20 Macebell Swing (each side)

Complex/Circuit Details (3–5 rounds):
8 Double Kettlebell Swings
4 Seasaw Press (each side)
4 Alternating Clean (each side)
4 Reverse Lunge (each side)
8 Double Racked Squat
8 Push Up
