Muskan Chaugathi, also known as Minso Muskan, is a 20-year-old guitarist and influencer from Bhaktapur who has been capturing hearts with her incredible talent. During the 58th session of The Storyyellers, she shared her incredible journey of being consistent and courageous to face any challenges life has to offer.

Muskan had always been a lively person since childhood. She always wanted to do something different. Back then, she was very drawn to listening to rock songs. When she was in 10th grade, she desperately wanted an acoustic guitar. She asked her sister for one and received it as a birthday gift. From that point on, she slowly started learning to play the guitar by watching YouTube videos.
Muskan had always been active on social media, and gradually, she began uploading cover songs. After some time, she felt the need for an electric guitar. At home, she expressed her desire to get an electric guitar. However, electric guitars are usually expensive, and since she was studying science in high school, her family was concerned that focusing on music might disrupt her studies.

She explained to her family that she wanted to be a guitarist, and after much persuasion, they agreed. She began posting videos, and they started receiving good views. Since her existing guitar wasn’t performing well, she thought of getting a better one. To afford it, she started working at the airport. As her popularity on social media grew, she received a message from Renu Syangbo, one of the renowned bassists. Renu appreciated Muskan’s work and invited her to a show. That’s where the band Istris was formed. However, Band practice was challenging for Muskan because she wasn’t used to practicing entire songs. She couldn’t perform as expected.

On April 30, 2023, like any other day, she was busy working. However, she had a heavy heart that day, with an intuition that something bad might happen. Her phone kept buzzing with notifications, which she initially ignored. After a while, she checked her phone and found a message from her band, Istris. The message read, “Muskan, we don’t need you anymore.” At that moment, she felt deeply hurt. She couldn’t do anything and didn’t know what to think or how to move forward.
