So originally, this song was a part of my album Children of the Burning Heart, back in 2021. It combined the Greek myth about Icarus with Matthew 4’s story about Christ being tempted in the wilderness. One son disobeyed his father, and one Son didn’t. One son listened to his own pride, and the other Son didn’t count equality with God a thing to be grasped.

The thing is, Icarus was a bit of a setup for Burning Heart’s sequel, Ghost. Icarus listened to the Ghosts that tempted him towards pride and rebellion. We are all Icarus. We listen to those same ghosts every day. We need Christ’s help. Only He can fight off the ghosts and give us strength to pursue Him.

So yeah. I hope you like this spooky version of Icarus for a spooky weekend. ;)
