[POV] Police Almost GOT HIT While Clearing Busy Highway

Welcome! Today we're following a Dutch emergency team with police motor vehicles and an ambulance. A patient is in critical condition and needs to be transported from the A12 Knorrestein to the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam as soon as possible. The ambulance staff requested a motor escort from the control room of the ambulance service. After approval, the request is forwarded to the control room of the police. They then dispatch the motor officer of the Traffic Team. Once on the scene, the commander of the motor officer makes arrangements with the ambulance driver regarding the route and the type of transport. The Traffic Team is part of the Regional Operational Cooperation Service. They are responsible for supervision, enforcement and crime prevention at the junctions of the infrastructure. Tasks include traffic enforcement and traffic accident handling. The department also manages the automatic number plate recognition. The Traffic Team is always in the middle of the operation and fully connected with the basic teams. Despite the fact that their core business is traffic enforcement and handling of traffic accidents, one can also encounter them at the “regular” emergency calls. As a team, they are responsible for the integral traffic enforcement and handling of complex traffic accidents within the service area of the unit. They want to have and maintain a current view of the prioritized safety themes, from a decisive, result-oriented, operational and collaborative perspective. They actively seek operational cooperation with the basic teams, both ad hoc and project-based. In this way, they want to bring in knowledge and expertise.
