Join me for an analysis of Ian Flynn's Neo Metal Sonic in the IDW Sonic Comic. Is this story basically a better version of the narrative from Sonic Heroes? A Sonic Heroes 2.0 if you will? Let's discuss!

Preamble: I'm new to the IDW Sonic comic, and the writings of Ian Flynn, so forgive me if I'm a little behind on everything! Growing up in Ireland, as a kid I was only accustomed to Fleetway's Sonic the Comic. And I always worried that the difference in tone and audience for the likes of Archie and IDW might be too different for me. But sufficed to say, I was wrong!

The writing of Ian Flynn, and how he handles characters like Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Shadow the Hedgehog etc. has been very interesting for me! After over a decade of the so-called "Meta Era", and games like Sonic Colors, Lost World and Sonic Forces I had forgotten what proper, detailed character interactions in the Sonic series was like! And all this, WITHOUT needing to play the Adventure games! PS: I love Tangle and Whisper!
