PIER CITY CYCLES TUTORIAL - Removing The BMW R9T Pillion Subframe

Welcome to the Pier City Cycles Tutorial Series. In these videos, we hope to show you a range of jobs or mods that you can carry out on your BMW R9T or R18. We hope to cover those simple jobs which new owners might not feel confident in asking, all the way through to the signature mods we use to transform our builds.

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to remove the pillion subframe on your R9T. This is a modification that allows you to tidy up the back end of the bike if you're not planning on taking a pillion very often. It's a super easy and practical mod which anyone can do at home. Remember that you'll need a Wunderlich bracket in order to fit the rear seat if you have a 2-part OEM saddle on your R nine T. Parts details below.

A T30 Torx Bit
A T40 Torx Bit
A T45 Torx Bit
Loctite 243
For Unit Garage Bracket add a 6mm Allen and 13mm Spanner
