"Fermi Problems" ask the student to estimate the answer to some question. This Fermi Problem asks for the number of oil changes to cars in the USA on a Tuesday. Often, the correct answer to a Fermi Problem is not known. A general principle is that you should break the problem into many factors and make educated guesses for each factor. Some factors will be too large and others too small, but the answer should be reasonably close to an acceptable number. I estimate that there are about a million oil changes each day.
