Lounge access with Chase Sapphire Reserve
As a cardmember, you'll receive complimentary Priority Pass™ Select membership after enrolling and completing a one-time activation. Membership gives you access to over 1,400 lounges in more than 500 cities worldwide.
Primary cardmembers and authorized users are allowed a maximum of 2 guests. For any additional guests, your card will be charged a fee per guest, per visit. Your card will be charged after these visits in the participating lounge have been reported to Priority Pass.
How to access airport lounges
All that's needed to access a lounge is a valid Priority Pass Select membership card. Most lounges now accept a digital membership card you can store on your smart phone. However, a lounge that reaches capacity may deny access.
If you're a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmember, your account must be open and not in default to maintain a valid Priority Pass Select membership. The membership also includes access to restaurants, cafes and markets participating in the Priority Pass network.
Other cards that offer airport lounge access
Airline credit cards: Some airlines have their own lounges at airports across the globe, and those airlines' credit cards may offer cardmembers some type of lounge access. Airline credit cards also offer benefits for customer loyalty to that specific airline, such as bonus points for purchases made through the airline.
General travel credit cards: The Chase Sapphire Reserve is a general travel card in the sense that it's not co-branded with an airline or hotel chain. Cardmembers can get Priority Pass Select membership and access over 1,400 airport lounges worldwide. Other general travel cards may offer a similar benefit.
Some reviewers have said that this is the best Priority Pass lounge in the world. Is it, really?
We’re at Boston’s Logan International Airport and we’re about to fly in jetBlue’s largest suite—- on their longest route! See that video at the link above or below.
Currently, jetBlue operates no lounges on its own, but recently they announced they will launch lounges both here at Logan AND at JFK. The press release says “in late 2025” for JFK and “soon after” for Boston.
Fortunately, we have access to The Chase Sapphire Lounge because of our Priority Pass card, a benefit of our Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. See all the access requirements in the description below.
When we arrived, there was an employee checking credentials and limiting access due to overcrowding.
The lounge sits on a corner, so there are great views of the apron and tarmac. In fact, I posted a short video of all the plane-spotting we did and you can see that video at the link above and below.
There are two shower rooms here.
When this lounge first opened, there was much fanfare about the food and the fact that you could scan a QR code and order à la carte for delivery to your table. According to the employees we met during our visit, you CAN order drinks for delivery to your table, but the food is now all buffet.
When we first went to the buffet, half of it was empty. This was at 6:15. So, we ordered some drinks and waited for the buffet to be re-stocked.
Across from the bar is a taproom, which, during open hours, serves a handful of local beers. We were there from six until eight-thirty in the evening, but the taproom was not open while we were there.
You can also reserve amenities via your handheld: reserve a shower…. or a wellness room ….or even a rest pod.
So, is this the best Priority pass lounge in the world? No, I don’t think so. I prefer the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at JFK. A link to a video tour of that lounge is above and below.
