Fender/JBL D110F/K110 Full Service Recone...Upland Loudspeaker Service

Описание к видео Fender/JBL D110F/K110 Full Service Recone...Upland Loudspeaker Service

This orange frame Fender/JBL D110F from 1978 is actually a K110. Fender wanted to maintain the "F" designation model speakers when JBL was transitioning/evolving to the "K-Series" to improve the power handling specs and complete the product line. I've found the production dates of orange frame Fender/JBL "D-Series" loudspeakers to be from 1974-1978.

The issue with these great vintage speakers is their age. Oxidation takes it's toll on everything. Those of you over 30 understand this concept...lol. The cone dries out and gets brittle. The spider loses its restorative spring. Thermal cycling from use...especially hard use...takes it's toll on the voice coil. The AlNiCo magnet loses some charge. The cast iron motor housing collects debris inside and should be thoroughly cleaned. Luckily enough, there are excellent parts to keep these gems alive, and the magnetizer is crucial to keep the motor strong for full frequency response. Renewed for another few decades of enjoyment with proper treatment.
