"Bird in the Window" Igor Kovalyov 1996

Описание к видео "Bird in the Window" Igor Kovalyov 1996

Wonderfully strange and interesting animation from the very talented animator Igor Kovalyov while he was working at Klascy Csupo Studio in 1996.

"Past and present merge and then re-fracture down different fault lines when a man visits a woman living in a house with a gardener"

ANIMATION NOW!

"Born in Kiev in 1954, Kovalyiov failed art school entrance exams because he did not know how to draw. Instead of becoming discouraged, at the age of 18 he began to work as an animator at the Kiev Studio under the influence of Priit Parn. As Perestroika became evident, he and Alexander Tatarsky founded PILOT, the first independent animation studio of the disappeared Soviet Union, which they set up in the buildings of what had been an old Orthodox Church.
The impact of his first film "Hen His Wife",selected for the Cannes Film Festival, caught the eye of the Hungarian producer Gabor Csupo, who proposed that Kovaliov work at the Kascy-Csupo studio of Hollywood. The rest of this success story consists of a constant moving back and forth between typically commercial projects, like the TV series and first feature film of the "Rugrats", and his own personal films, such as "Bird in the Window" and "Flying Nansen". In both cases, Kovaliov's talent has been widely recognized and prized.
His shorts make up one of the most consistent collections in the world of animation. In them, his characters experience loneliness, paranoia, madness and reclusion. Autobiographical traces coexist with a rich symbolism in which past and present, memory and imagination blend together and are taken beyond any distinction. His graphic style is dense, full of brown tones and intense shadings, undoubtedly of Russian inspiration."

The running time of "Bird in the Window" is only around 10 minutes. I am not sure why it uploads an attached second copy that is silent, as the copy on my computer is only 10 minutes long. I have tried a couple of times to rectify this to no avail. Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
