作品について / Program notes:
この作品は「オブロー・クラリネット・アンサンブル」の委嘱により書かれました。２つの楽章で構成されております。
[Danse Melancholique]
タイトルが示している通り、全体的にメランコリックな曲想です。イントロダクションに続いて、しっとりとしたダンスが始まりますが、要所要所に出てくるオブリガートがポイントです。幻想的な中間部に続いて、アルゼンチン・タンゴのリズムが出てきますが、この部分の演奏解釈如何によって、曲の性格が決まります。
[Danse Antipathique]
１曲目とはうって変わって、情熱的、かつ、エキセントリックなダンスです。曲中、何度も出てくるバスクラリネットのスラップタンギングが要です。
アップテンポの作品ですが、細かい音符を粗末に扱うとビートが崩れてしまい崩壊してしまうので注意が必要です。中間部のルンバ的セクションを如何に美しく表現するか、がポイントです。
バスクラリネットのカデンツァ、そしてワルツに続いて再現するテーマは、エンディングに向かってどんどんaccel.していきます。最後はin ２で感じた方が雰囲気が出るでしょう。

In two movements.

Danse Melancholique
The style is melancholic. After the introduction comes a mellow dance. Obbligato has an important role. Mysterioso middle section leads to an Argentinian tango feel. The interpretation of this section sets the character of the piece.

Danse Antipathique
A drastic contrast from the first, the second movement has a passionate and eccentric dance-like character. Bass clarinet slap tonguing is the key here.
Be very attentive to the rhythm and subdivided notes. Precision is very important to maintain the dance effect. Also, expressiveness in the middle section rumba underscores the movement's uniqueness.
Bass clarinet cadenza, waltz, and recapitulation of the theme accelerate towards the conclusion, building energy. The ending should be felt in two for best effect.
