作品について / Program notes:
2002年に東海大学付属高輪台高等学校吹奏楽部の委嘱によりクラリネット８重奏曲「カプリッチョ」(ENMS-84031)を手がけ、今回も同高校吹奏楽部顧問である畠田貴生先生からお話を頂き、再びクラリネット８重奏を書く機会に恵まれました。
「パーテル・ノステル」とはラテン語で「われらの父」という意味を持ち、キリスト自身によって示された代表的な祈りのことを指します。この作品は宗教的な観点で描いた訳ではありませんが、壮大なる自然のエネルギーや未知なる力に対する畏敬の念を、ある種の民族的な「祈り」として表現したものです。
東海大学付属高輪台高等学校吹奏楽部クラリネットパートの皆さんは、当曲で第29回全日本アンサンブルコンテストに出場し、大変素晴らしい演奏をしてくれました。尚、作品を完成するにあたって多くのご助言を頂きましたクラリネット奏者の月村淳さんに心より感謝申し上げます。

Takanawadai High School Wind Orchestra commissioned my Capriccio for Clarinet Octet in 2002, which caused them to commission another octet.
"Pater Noster means "Our Father" in Latin. I did not compose from a specifically religious point of view, but rather with a feeling of awe and reverence toward the magnificent power of nature, expressed with a type of ethnical prayer."
Takanawadai High School Wind Orchestra’s clarinet section performed Pater Noster wonderfully at the 29th All Japan Ensemble Contest. Also, I wish to thank professional clarinetist Jun Tsukimura.
