WHY IS MY CYPRESS HEDGE TURNING BROWN PART 2

Описание к видео WHY IS MY CYPRESS HEDGE TURNING BROWN PART 2

Why is my Cypress hedge turning brown, Part 2. Three months ago I started an experiment to see if I could recover, or at least partially recover, a Cypress hedge that had all 4 major reasons for Cypress dieback, namely: 1) lack of water 2) overzealous pruning 3) fungus and 4) aphids.
Three months ago it was right in the middle of the bird nesting season therefore I could not apply either fungicide or insecticide, therefore I decided to concentrate my efforts on lack of water and over-pruning. During this three month period I have been watering deeply once a week and applying a high nitrogen fertilizer once a month and there has been a response in all sections of the hedge. In some areas of the hedge the recovery has been so good that I feel that we are out of the woods there. In other sections things are slower, but I have now been able to apply both fungicide and insecticide.
I want to continue the experiment through the next growing season after which time I will be in a position to make a call based on results regarding the future of this hedge.
Certainly the results so far indicate that by just increasing water and using a high nitrogen feed is sufficient to turn things around.
