Off Roading ~ Lake George, NY Tunnels

My son told me about the "Lake George Tunnels" (Lake George, NY - Warren County) a couple of years ago. I finally found them and drove my jeep to the small reservoir at the top and listened to the soothing sound of the waterfalls & took in the gorgeous scenery!! I featured that video on my previous YouTube channel at the time, but mysteriously over 6 years worth of video PLUS my channel disappeared. So now I have started this new channel which more correctly reflects the Adirondacks name - an area to which I was born and raised and where the bulk of my videos will come from.

For directions to the tunnels:
take I87 (toll free road called the Northway here) and get off exit 22. You can get off exit 21 and travel through the village of Lake George but tourism can make the drive a bit slower! So if you travel to exit 22, you will be placed at the northern portion of the village. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left on Route 9 north. Travel approx a mile and turn left onto BIG HOLLOW RD. Follow this road for a short drive and you will see the tunnels just as I've shown in my video. We have had a lot of rain this year (2023), so there are areas washed out. My 2012 Jeep JK has a stock suspension and as you can see in the video, I crawled over areas where I thought I'd do some damage by going faster. It's a nice climb, beautiful scenery and a nice little parking area at the top if you want to hang and picnic. When you finish your tour, drive on into Lake George Village itself for year-round activities!
