18th century Miniature Wargame with the Galleys & Galleons Rules - Great Battle on the Ionian Sea

In this miniature wargame naval battle we use the Galleys & Galleons rules. An Ottoman squadron confronts a Venetian-Portuguese squadron in the Ionian Sea at the beginning of the 18th Century, during the 7th Ottoman-Venetian War which we use as a base for a naval and land campaign. As there are 8 ships involved per side, we split each squadron into two squadrons of 4 ships, in order to use the G&G rules which are intended for much smaller engagements. Otherwise, it is very easy that a large number of ships would have to pass turn, since the rules indicate that when rolling dice to get activations, two failures in the same roll means losing turn. Limiting these turn losses to 4 ships minimizes this effect enough to play many ships.
