Regenerative Agriculture Defined:
Farming and ranching in synchrony with nature to repair, rebuild, revitalize, and restore ecosystem function, starting with all life in the soil and moving to all life above the soil.

Thank you very much for your support 😘😘😘

Initially, we got the bunnies as partners in this project of growing healthy food and building soil.
They eat the grass and weeds and, in return, give us a fantastic source of soil food in the form of their manure.
This is important because, compared to many other animal manure, it doesn't need to be composted to be used in the garden.
Instead, it can be added to your growing beds and act as a slow-release nutrition boost to the soil microbiome and your plants.

But then we kept thinking that the secret to a healthy ecosystem is biodiversity, and we were having huge issues with a slug plague, where the slugs were eating and destroying all our crops.

Instead of trying to intervene and micromanage a problem, I took the natural approach to it.
I researched what can eat the slugs, recycle them in the garden and give me something in return so that this way everyone wins.

The answer was Muscovy ducks!
Why?

1. They are excellent foragers and get up to 80% of their diet from weeds, bugs, slugs, and grasses.
2. They roost just like chickens - so a hybrid coup can be built that can house chickens and the ducks
3. They are quiet, almost silent compared to other duck breeds (this is important because of the rules I have to respect in my garden)
4. They are incredible parents, educating and caring for their young, passing their wisdom to them with fantastic care and patience.
5. They lay amazingly nutritious eggs that are fantastic for baking

The list can continue, but I don't want to geek out too much (I'm a massive fan of these ducks).

Hope you enjoy the video :D
