Ep 196 Exploring Devon & Foraging with Wild Food UK | Caravan and Narrowboat Vlog | 14 August (2021)

Video Diary | Caravan Vlog | Sun 8 August
It is a rainy day in Brixham and to make matters worse Glenn wants to visit Homebase to buy a storage box for outside the caravan. We head to Newton Abbott where in addition to buying the storage box I pick up a plant.
The rain stops and we decide to head to Teignmouth, I am not 100% sure how this is pronounced.
After playing on the arcades and having a stroll around we head back to the caravan. We are shocked and amazed to find Glenn's phone was left on the boot!!!!!
I get frustrated with technology when I try to do some work so cook a sweet potato and prawn curry for dinner!

Glenn picks up a washing machine from Facebook Market place for £80 and a £10 strimmer that doesn’t work - he is sure he can fix it.
Glenn does Engine Room Chat with Jeff, Saul and Dave.
Later, he gets a spam text saying that he needs to get a PCR test.

Glenn fits the washing machine and I crack on with some work. In the afternoon we head to Cockington, we admire the beautiful thatched cottages, enjoy ice cream and watch beautiful glass paperweights being made at @OurGlass
We then head into Brixham to enjoy fish and chips.

We take a walk down to St Mary’s Bay which is just a short stroll from South Bay Holiday Park, whilst down on the beach, a family required urgent medical assistance and the RNLI, Coastguard and Paramedics turned up.

We didn’t stay to watch the whole rescue unfold and decided to head back to the caravan.

And… you won’t believe this coincidence, do you remember that we visited @ourglass in Cockington yesterday? Well, it is only the place that my mum had my dad’s memorial paperweights made!!!

We leave Devon and head back to the boat. We make plans for a cruise to the Wendover Arm next week. I am looking forward to that already.
We have a great journey back as we continue to listen to the Robert Galbraith audiobook, Troubled Blood https://fave.co/2UgaDVG
It is the Perseids season and we end the day watching shooting stars.

Glenn takes his mum for a blood test and I go on a foraging course with Mirimar.
The course was organised by Wild Food UK and was brilliant! We leant lots about foraging for food and then enjoyed a delicious lunch.

Glenn helps Charlie finish his narrowboat bathroom refit. He then washes the roof of our boat to get all the tree sap off. I spend a leisurely day reading my new book.
