If you love desserts but aren't particularly interested or good at baking, then this is the milktart for you!

This milktart is super quick and easy and requires no baking at all!


Recipe:

Quick No-bake Milktart
1 x 200g (7 oz) packet of square biscuits
Rectangular dish 22 x 34 cm (9 x 13 inch)
6 cups of full cream milk
2 cups white granulated sugar
½ cup cornflour (Maizena)
4 large eggs
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
½ tbsp vanilla extract
Powdered cinnamon

Arrange the biscuits in the bottom of the rectangular dish.
Heat the milk up in a pot but do not allow it to boil.
Mix the sugar, salt and cornflour in a bowl. Add the eggs to the sugar-cornflour mixture and beat or whisk until light and fluffy. Take one cup of warm milk from the pot and add to the egg mixture, whisking continuously. Now add the egg mixture to the pot and whisk until thick over a medium heat. It is important to stir to stop the custard mixture from burning at the bottom of the pot. Remove the mixture from the heat and add the vanilla and butter. Mix well. Pour the custard mixture over the biscuits carefully so as not to shift them around. Sprinkle the top of the custard with powdered cinnamon. Allow to cool to room temperature and then store in the fridge for a few hours, slice into squares and serve.
