THE WORST sting! Giant Asian Hornet: Vespa tropica

A close cousin to the Asian giant hornet (Murder hornet), the Greater Banded Hornet is a large cannibalistic wasp species native to Asia and Africa. These formidable insects flourish in large paper nests both in trees and underground. I was able to capture this individual while it was getting a drink at a river. This was by far the most painful sting I have endured so far, and though it did not last as long as the asian forest scorpion sting, it was significantly more severe. A very interesting test indeed!
