Winter Adventure: Yamagata Chapter | Zao Onsen, Mt Zao, Jizo Son, Snow monster, Yamagata Wagyu Beef

Welcome to our journey that combines the enchanting beauty of Japan's winter landscapes with its rich cultural heritage and modern marvels. Over the next 14 days, we will experience the magic of Japan in winter, visiting places from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene Rissyakuji Temple (Yamadera) and Hagurosan Gojunoto (Five Story Pagoda), the beautiful snow-covered peak of Mount Fuji and Mount Zao, the tranquil hot springs in Ginzan Onsen, and the extensive collection of jellyfish in Kamo Aquarium.

- Yamagata Station / Prefecture：famous for it's rice, sake and beef
- Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata：1 min walk from the JR station, bus station and shopping mall
- Zao Onsen：onsen town for those skiing in Mount Zao
- Mount Zao：famous ski spot and also a great tourist spot for the half snow buried Jizo Son and snow monsters
- Juhyo Kogen Station：first stop along the cable car route. Gentle slope for skiing in the snow
- Jizo Sancho Station：final stop along the cable car route. You can find the half buried Jizo Son and snow monsters here
- Jizo Son：a 2m tall Jizo statue half buried under the harsh winter snow
- Mt Zao Snow monster：The famous Mount Zao snow monster formed from ice and snow over the winter months. Spectacular views of the frost covered trees
- Yamagata Beef / Tongue yakiniku：Top 6 wagyu producing area in Japan. Best Japanese rice and sake. Grilled Yamagata wagyu beef and tongue at a yakiniku restaurant

- 树冰高原站：缆车路线第一站。坡度平缓，适合滑雪
- 地藏山顶站：缆车路线最后一站。在这里可以找到雪埋地藏菩萨和雪怪
- 蔵王地蔵尊：2m高的地藏菩萨像半埋在严酷的冬雪之下
- 藏王山雪怪：著名的雪怪是由冬季的冰雪形成的
- 山形牛肉 / 牛舌烤肉：日本六大和牛产地。日本最好的大米和清酒。烤山形和牛和牛舌
