Narcissus Dutch Master belongs to the group 1 of the Daffodil classification (Trumpet Long-Cupped), and can grow quite tall (over 60 cm) even if in my pot it stayed smaller, about 40-45 cm tall. It was raised by Matthew Zand Bergen in the Netherlands and registered in 1938. The seed parent is Narcissus Maximums and the pollen parent is Narcissus Emperor. The flowers are about 8-10 cm across, with tepals greenish yellow and trumpet vivid yellow, with mouth expanded and are a delight to see between late winter and early summer, they really burst in colour against the green of the grass.
As usual for daffodils, the bulbs need to be planted in autumn in well drained soil, and the plant thrives in full sun or at least partial shade. In summer the foliage dies down and bulbs can either be lifted and divided, or left in place keeping them as dry as possible.
